Inclusive Perspectives | Tori Spiteri

 Read business profile

After her son was diagnosed with autism in 2020, Tori Spiteri and her family began the search for sensory-friendly facilities. Discovering that options were limited, she took it upon herself to create a safe space where children and youth could learn together. Inclusive Perspectives has become a haven for families to connect and share resources. All are welcome whether your child has autism or just needs a calming space to play and explore. Sensory sessions can be booked online, and sensory materials are available for purchase in-store and on their website.

Tori is a participant in the Starter Company Plus program at the Orangeville and Area Small Business and Enterprise Centre (SBEC). During the bi-weekly sessions, she has been creating an effective business plan, learning how to overcome obstacles, and building valuable relationships with other business owners. With the support of her peers, Tori has had the confidence to connect with other networks that will help her to expand Inclusive Perspectives. Tori’s encouragement to all small business owners is to take risks.

“I was very hesitant on starting this business and was worried that it wouldn’t do well. Since opening, I have received so much positive feedback and seen many children flourish. With the space being fully accessible, families can see their child’s full potential!”

Twisted Indian | Money and Noor

 Read business profile

The Twisted Indian is one of Orangeville’s newest restaurants. Located at 520 Alder Street, the new franchise location opened in August. The menu focuses on offering healthy options that feature Indian flavours and ingredients while accommodating the taste preferences of each customer. All the sauces are made from scratch, the spices are ground fresh, the meats are marinated daily, and every dish can be customized with the right amount of spice. The Twisted Indian aims to bring everyone to the table.

Money and Noor, the local restaurant owners, discovered this fusion Indian fast-food option and felt that there was a place for the franchise in Orangeville. Although the food is served quickly, time and care is taken when preparing each meal.

They want everyone to feel comfortable when ordering to ensure they enjoy their meals. As local business owners, they understand their community and are always looking for ways to get involved and contribute.
