The Town of Orangeville issues licences to charitable and religious organizations located in Orangeville to conduct and manage different lottery schemes. We issue the following types of lottery licences based on the terms and conditions of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO):
- raffles
- bingo
- break open tickets
- electronic raffles

Apply for a lottery licence
Lottery licence applications can be found through the AGCO. Please submit your organization's completed application with the required documentation to the Clerk's Division at Town Hall, 87 Broadway. Your application package should include:
- a completed application form signed by two of your organization's signing officers
- application fee of 3% of the total prize value
- a budget covering a 12-month fiscal calendar year that details how lottery revenue will be acquired and dispersed
- information that will assist us in determining the charitable nature of your organization (such as a copy of the articles of incorporation, letters patent, or constitution and/or by-laws, charitable number for income tax purposes, etc.)
First time applicants should contact the Clerk's Division to understand the application requirements and to complete the Eligibility Questionnaire before applying.

Eligibility
Charitable and religious organizations may apply for a lottery licence, provided they have been operating for at least one year.
In order to be eligible, an organization must first have charitable objectives that fall within one of the four classifications of charities:
- the relief of poverty
- the advancement of education
- the advancement of religion
- other charitable purposes beneficial to the community
Please note, charitable registration with Revenue Canada or incorporation as a non-profit organization does not guarantee eligibility for a lottery licence.
