The Committee of Adjustment is authorized under the Ontario Planning Act to receive applications and make decisions regarding requests for minor variances from the provisions of the Town's Zoning By-law and requests for consent.

Make an appeal
The applicant, the Minister, specified persons or public body that has an interest in the matter, can appeal a decision of the Committee of Adjustment to the Tribunal. Visit the Tribunal website for more information on the prescribed fee and to obtain a copy of the appeal form.
The applicant, specified persons or public body that files an appeal of a decision of the Committee of Adjustment does not make written submission to the Committee of Adjustment before it approves or refuses an application, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal may dismiss the appeal.
The applicant, the Minister or any specified person or public body who has an interest in the matter may within 20 days of the making of the decision appeal to the Tribunal against the decision of the committee. This would be done by filing with the secretary-treasurer of the committee a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the decision and the reasons in support of the objection. It would be accompanied by payment to the secretary-treasurer of the fee charged by the Tribunal under the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal Act, 2017 as payable on an appeal from a committee of adjustment to the Tribunal.
The appeal period is 20 days from the date of the decision. If no notice of appeal is given within 20 days, the decision of the committee is final and binding.
