The Town of Orangeville has a variety of committees that advise Council on important matters. If you would like to get involved with the Town, attend a committee meeting to stay up-to-date or check back for open volunteer opportunities to sit on one of our committees. At the beginning of each Council term (following a municipal election) and as vacancies occur, Council will call for applications to volunteer on a Town advisory committee.

Heritage Orangeville Committee - Three (3) Vacancies

Heritage Orangeville meets monthly or as required. Consideration will be given to individuals who have the following:

  • An interest in the complexities, benefits and challenges of heritage preservation, both generally and within the context of the Town of Orangeville.
  • Have a special interest or knowledge in conducting research with respect to historical matters, urban design, or conservation practices related to heritage restoration.
  • A background in local history, genealogy, or experience in planning and land development.

Joint Compliance Audit Committee

The Joint Compliance Audit Committee is responsible for reviewing compliance audit applications submitted by an elector who believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate or third-party advertiser has contravened the provisions of the Municipal Elections Act relating to campaign or advertising finances. The Committee will be responsible for reviewing applications for all eight Dufferin municipalities.
