Charitable tax rebates
We offer a charitable tax rebate for certain federally-registered charities that own property in the Town of Orangeville. Please complete the Charitable Tax Rebate Application and submit it to:

You must submit your application by February 28 of each year to receive a rebate for the previous tax year.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for the tax rebate, your charity must:
- be a federally-registered charity with a registered charity number as defined in section 284(1) of the Income Tax Act
- own property that is assessed as commercial or industrial

Tax appeal
Under section 357 and 358 of the Municipal Act, if there has been a significant change in your property, you may be eligible for a property tax adjustment. Please complete the Application for the Cancellation, Reduction or Refund of Property Taxes and submit it to Town Hall located at 87 Broadway.
Applications must be submitted by February 28 of each year.
Eligibility
You must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible:
- tax classification changes
- land has become exempt
- structure razed or damaged by fire or demolition
- sickness or extreme poverty
- mobile home removed
- repairs or renovations that prevent normal use of the land for a minimum of three months
- gross or manifest error
