Proclamations are ceremonial documents issued and signed by the Mayor or Council designate to recognize important days, weeks or months in the Town of Orangeville. Celebrating the Town's diversity and creating an inclusive community where all people can feel safe, supported and recognized is a priority for Council. All proclamations and flag raisings will take place at Town Hall unless otherwise stated.
Make a proclamation request
Proclamation requests are community-based, and we issue proclamations and community flag raisings for charitable or non-profit organizations to help raise public awareness about important issues or charitable fundraising campaigns. In addition, we recognize important months and days for members of our community.
Guidelines and regulations
All proclamations are issued at the discretion of Town Council. The Town of Orangeville will not pay for any advertising costs involved in the issuance of proclamations. Please provide a minimum of 4 weeks notice with any requests. Organizations must apply annually to have the proclamation read.
