Orangeville Briefs

Our private sector contractors start work next week on Townline from Broadway to 365 metres south (the Water Pollution Control Plant). Along with intersection improvements at Townline and Broadway, work on Townline includes:

  • Overflow culvert replacement
  • Resurfacing the impacted area
  • Partial curb and sidewalk replacements

Here’s what you need to know:

  • A single lane closure will begin next week
  • A full closure will be required during culvert replacement – the Town will provide additional notice at that time
  • Local business access will be maintained
  • Emergency vehicles will be provided access
  • A detour will be set up on John Street between Broadway and Townline

Orangeville Transit Impact

There will be a detour on the Blue Route for the next few weeks due to construction on Townline from Broadway to the Water Pollution Control Plant.

  • Last stop before detour: Broadway and John Street (Stop B4)
  • Route Reconnection: Townline at Orange Street
  • First stop following detour: Chisolm Street and Orange Street (Stop 52)

The Blue Route will not be servicing the following routes during the detour period:

  • Broadway and Mill Street (B5)
  • Broadway and First Street (B6)
  • Broadway and Fourth Street (B6a)
  • Broadway and Townline (B7)

The Orange and Green Routes will maintain regular service to all Broadway stops.
