Town reintroduces some COVID preventative measures
The Town of Orangeville is bringing back some of the COVID preventative measures that were in effect for previous pandemic waves. With growing case numbers generally and some cases amongst staff, members of the Town’s Emergency Operations Centre made the decision Friday to reintroduce some preventative measures in the interest of everyone’s health and safety, effective July 26, 2022.
The measures include:
- requiring staff who are not able to socially distance to wear a mask and to meet virtually as much as possible
- reducing capacity in areas where there are a lot of staff members are in a small setting
- reducing capacity at Town Hall and closing over the lunch hour. Town Hall will be open 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. The Clerk’s office will handle some matters beyond those hours and that will entail booking an appointment for election-related matters and marriage licences.
Other than changes in hours at Town Hall, municipal programs remain available to the public and are not impacted by the reintroduction of safety measures for Town staff. Members of the public are encouraged to wear a mask in Town facilities.
