On Monday, April 8, a solar eclipse will occur. Although the Town of Orangeville is not in the path of totality, we can expect to see approximately 98 to 99 per cent of the event.
We will be shutting down Orangeville Transit during the peak time of the eclipse for the safety of our drivers, passengers, and pedestrians who may be outside for the eclipse.
Here's what to expect:
• Transit Service will pause at 2:45 p.m. for approximately one hour.
• Each bus will complete its route leading them to the Transit Hub nearest to the 2:45 p.m. shutdown.
• Transit buses will remain at the hub during this period.
• Once the peak of the eclipse has passed, Town Staff will give the go-ahead for service to resume. This is expected to occur around 3:45 p.m.
Follow us on Facebook or Twitter for any updates on transit, including resumption of service.
