Starting on May 2, 2022, candidates can file nominations for the October 24, 2022 municipal election. Nominations may be filed in person at the Town of Orangeville Clerk’s Office at 87 Broadway. The prescribed nomination form must be accompanied by the filing fee ($200 for Mayor or $100 for all other offices).
The nomination of a person for an office on a council must be endorsed by at least 25 qualified electors (original signatures required). The endorsement of nomination form must be filed at the time of filing of a nomination.
Nominations must be filed in person by the candidate or by their agent during normal office hours (8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday) on or after Monday May 2, 2022 until Nomination Day on August 19, 2022. On Nomination Day, nominations will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
During this period, the Town will accept nominations for the offices of:
- Mayor (1 to be elected)
- Deputy Mayor (1 to be elected)
- Councillor (5 to be elected)
- Member, Upper Grand District School Board (1 to be elected)
