The Alder Street Recreation Centre Experience

The new Alder Street Recreation Centre Pools were designed with accessibility, fun, and recreation in mind. Whether you're there for swimming lessons, as part of the Orangeville Otters swim club, taking advantage of our swimming programs, or there for some recreational fun, there is plenty to do and enjoy.

The Lap Pool

Our stainless steel lap pool features 8 lanes with brand-new blocks installed for our swimmers and competitions. The pool was expanded as part of the renovations, increasing from the previous 6-lanes.

The larger size will allow Orangeville's local swim club, the Orangeville Otters, to practice and compete at the Alder Recreation Centre. The club contributed financially to the timing system, helping to make this a world-class pool.

Kids' Splash Area and Water Slides

New to the Alder Recreation Street Leisure Pools is an indoor splash area for kids, with multiple water features including water blasters, a small water-zone playset, and more.

Plus, try out our two new water slides, designed to give kids of all ages the opportunity to join the fun.

Older youth will get to swirl and whirl their way down on the large water slide, coming to a stop in a safe end zone away from the pool.

Younger children will get to enjoy our blue waterslide, complete with flower sprinklers and a safe climbing zone to get to the top, landing safely in a separate end zone away from the pool as well.

The Leisure Pool

Our renovated leisure pool provides a safe area for families and children to learn to swim, play, or simply spend some time relaxing in the water. Along with an accessible ramp, the pool includes graduated steps to help those smaller children still getting used to getting in a pool.

The pool also features a section where swimmers can sit on a built-in bench to take a break from activities.
