Town of Orangeville and police costing consultant part ways

In July of 2019, the Town of Orangeville retained MPM Consulting to complete a study and analysis of policing services models and deliver a report to Council. At this point, there is a different interpretation of requirements for the deliverables and both parties have decided to amicably part ways.
The Town will retain a new consultant to complete the work, and MPM Consulting has agreed to assist with a successful transition.

Traffic signals to be upgraded at two Broadway intersections

As part of the 2019 budget, Council approved a project that includes updates to two sets of traffic signals located at Broadway and Dawson, and Broadway and Second Street. The upgrades are part of an ongoing multiple year program that ensures that traffic signals are upgraded to current regulations and are maintained in accordance with Municipal and Provincial requirements.

The Town of Orangeville currently has 12 municipal water supply wells, but has identified the need to increase the available water supply to accommodate anticipated growth and to provide back-up in the water supply network. October update to July news release:
The reconstruction of Faulkner Street, from Broadway to Elizabeth Street, will be deferred until the spring of 2020 due to the lateness of the season. Arrangements have been made by the Town to remove all signs, construction equipment, and materials from the street given that the project has been rescheduled.
