Consultant's report on policing rescheduled to November 4

Pomax Consulting Inc. will present a report on the provision of policing services to Orangeville Council on November 4 in Town Hall at 87 Broadway at 7 p.m.

Currently scheduled for October 28, the consultant’s report on the OPP costing review has been moved to November 4 to provide more time for the consultant to finalize the report. October 28 remains as a scheduled Council meeting.

Lieutenant Governor to attend Remembrance Day ceremony in Orangeville

The Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will make an official visit to Orangeville, to attend the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Alexandra Park (north of Town Hall).

The Town of Orangeville’s 2020 budget will be tabled on November 11.

Orangeville Council has directed finance staff to exclude incremental increases to both the capital budget and capital reserve which is 0.5 per cent of the prior year’s levy. Mayors and Chief Administrative Officers of other Ontario communities have been invited to participate in the October 7 meeting of Orangeville Council to discuss their experiences with policing services and/or the Ontario Provincial Police costing proposal exercise.

Humber College to close doors in Orangeville in 2021

Humber College has announced that it will close its Orangeville operations, based inside the Alder Recreation Centre, in June of 2021.
