With advice from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health and for the safety of our residents, businesses and employees, Orangeville Town Hall and all other Town facilities will remain closed until further notice to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Orangeville Transit announces changes to service to implement physical distancing

Orangeville Council waived Orangeville Transit fees for 90 days, effective March 23, 2020, to offer some relief to residents during the pandemic.

Orangeville Transit is making additional service changes, effective Monday, March 30, as part of the Town’s response to COVID-19.

Service changes include:

• maximum 10 people on the bus at one time
• blocking off select seats so customers can practise physical distancing while riding the bus

Orangeville Council approves emergency relief initiatives

Orangeville Council has approved a relief package for residents, as well as property and business owners. After declaring an emergency in the Town of Orangeville on March 20, Council took action, in a special meeting today, to waive all fees and interest related to late payment of property taxes (on all tax classes) for a three-month period, in response to COVID-19. Town closes play equipment/play structures to stem spread of COVID-19

In order to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Town is posting signage at all parks warning residents to keep their children off all play equipment/play structures. This equipment is not sanitized, presenting a risk to those using the equipment to contract or spread the virus.

Town of Orangeville declares emergency

The Town of Orangeville has declared a State of Emergency in response to COVID-19.

The declaration gives the Town more flexibility during an emergency, including access to additional resources. It does not change the regulations and procedures that exist to ensure the municipality operates effectively and the Town will continue to provide essential services.

Town of Orangeville takes further steps to contain virus and protect public

To minimize the risk to residents and staff and to help prevent the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Town of Orangeville will close the remaining offices and buildings to the public tomorrow at 12 p.m.

Orangeville to close more municipal offices and adjust public hours in response to COVID-19

As part of the Town of Orangeville’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town is announcing a reduction in service hours at Town Hall and the restriction of public access to more municipal buildings.

Effective tomorrow morning:

Town closing some facilities as part of COVID-19 response

Today, the Town of Orangeville is announcing a number of municipal closures that will take effect as of 6 p.m. on March 14. All recreation facilities and libraries will be closed. In addition, all Council and Committee meetings, public consultations and public gatherings will also be closed until April 6. The Orangeville Public Library is cancelling all programs and events next week including the March Break (March 16-21) programs. The library will offer a full refund for any tickets that have already been purchased for March Break live performances.

Traffic signals to be upgraded at two Broadway intersections

As part of the 2019 budget, Council approved a project that includes updates to two sets of traffic signals located at Broadway and Dawson, and Broadway and Second Street.
