Library launches curbside pick-up service

The Orangeville Public Library will offer curbside pick-up service, by appointment, effective Monday, May 25. Library customers can reserve items through the online catalogue or library app, by emailing [email protected] or by calling or 519-941-0610 -- and then collect their materials through a curbside pick-up service offered Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular loan periods apply.

On May 19, the Ontario government announced the immediate reopening of a number of outdoor recreational amenities as part of the first stage of its plan to reopen the province.
The Town of Orangeville will reopen some outdoor public recreation amenities for casual, informal use, effective Thursday, May 21. The Government of Ontario has announced “A Framework for Reopening our Province: Stage 1”, which lists businesses and services that can resume service as of Tuesday, May 19. Libraries were included in this list for curbside pick-up.

With the promise of warmer weather on the way, many gardeners are itching to dig in the dirt and get planting. Plus the pandemic has renewed interest in homegrown food. Decision made on new transfer point for Orangeville Transit

The Orangeville Transit Task Force made its final recommendations to Orangeville Council this week, with the most significant being the location of a new transfer point. After years of review, Council voted 5-2 to establish a transfer point for Orangeville Transit buses on both sides of Broadway, between First Street and John Street. The Town of Orangeville continues to work with the Ontario Provincial Police to move forward with the transition process, tentatively scheduled for October 1, 2020.
