Two new tree sculptures added to municipal art inventory

The Town of Orangeville has unveiled two new tree sculptures on Broadway. The coyotes are howling at 216 Broadway, in front of the post office. The eye-catching sculpture is carved out of white pine and took more than a week to complete.



Up the street, at 305 Broadway, is a whimsical sculpture of pelicans. They look like they are sitting on individual posts but the sculpture’s elements are all carved from one log, of white pine. This sculpture also took more than a week to complete.

Heritage Week marked by Historical Photography Exhibit February 18-21

Mayor Sandy Brown has proclaimed February 17-23, 2020 as Heritage Week in Orangeville. The 2020 theme is “2020 Vision: Bringing the Past into the Future”



Everyone is invited to view and enjoy Orangeville’s Heritage Week Photography Exhibition. The Historical Photography Exhibition will be in the Town Hall Atrium and available for viewing from February 18-21, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The exhibit will be open until 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 20.

The Historical Photography Project’s purpose is the documentation of Orangeville’s rich inheritance, natural environment, culture and people, and historically and architecturally significant properties, all of which are irreplaceable assets of the community of Orangeville.

New tree sculptures unveiled as part of public art program

The most recent tree sculpture on a residential boulevard involves some neighbourly fun. On Zina Street, where the Staley family had previously sponsored a sculpture with two dogs, the neighbours got into the spirit with the latest project – a sculpture with three cats.



Lynn and Dan Lubitz wanted to do their bit to help keep Zina Street beautiful and charming and to show appreciation for their four-legged feline friends. They say they were inspired by their neighbours donation to the sculpture program...

2019 Arts & Culture Award winners announced

As a kick-off to Culture Days, the 10th annual Town of Orangeville Arts & Culture Awards were announced on September 26. The event celebrated the local art and culture sector and paid tribute to the outstanding contributions made by individuals, businesses and organizations throughout the region.

Several nominations were received for eight award categories, with judging completed by an experienced independent panel from outside Dufferin County.

Four art submissions chosen for utility box displays

Four art submissions have been selected by Orangeville’s Cultural Plan Task Force to be featured on utility boxes throughout Orangeville.

The Utility Box Art Display Program recognizes local artists, celebrates the Town’s culture and history, and promotes Orangeville as an arts and culture hub for the region. The program launched in 2016 with three unique art installations in downtown Orangeville.  Including this year’s additions, there are now 17 pieces of colourful public art adorning utility...

2019 Utility Box Art Display Program opens for artists

The Town of Orangeville has announced its Call for Artists for the 2019 Utility Box Art Display Program. With a submission deadline of June 14, the Town is looking for local artists to help beautify the community and celebrate the Town’s vibrant arts culture. Since this popular program began in 2016, thirteen functional utility boxes have been transformed into colourful works of art for residents and visitors to enjoy.
