Throughout the year, the Town of Orangeville undertakes numerous construction and infrastructure projects in order to maintain or improve elements in the Town.

Parks and Facilities Projects
Rotary Park - Anticipated start Spring 2024 |
The Rotary Park project, approved by Orangeville Council in June of 2022, is planned over six phases:
Watermain work will commence in Spring 2024, followed by the playground renovation work, tentatively scheduled for late summer 2024. The project is being completed by a private sector contract, RK & Associates Consulting Inc. |

Rehabilitation work on C-Line at Broadway is scheduled to resume on July 1, 2024. The project was initiated in September 2023 and work continued until December 2023, when it was stopped due to the winter season. The following closures will occur for the project:

Culvert Rehabilitation - John Street (Resumed Spring 2024) |

Work on the rehabilitation of the culvert on John Street resumed as of May 6, 2024. The project was initiated in September 2023 and work continued until December 2023, when it was stopped due to the winter season. A portion of John Street will be closed for the duration of the work.

Hansen Boulevard Connection |

The alignment of Hansen Boulevard was planned through a municipal class environmental assessment completed through 2006-2007. The western stretch of Hansen Boulevard, between Blind Line and Veteran’s Way, has been constructed in incremental segments over a 10-year period. Segments were completed as surrounding residential subdivision developments were constructed, by the project developers. Segments completed to date (February 2024) include:

Victoria Street and Ontario Street Reconstruction (Beginning June 3, 2024) |

A private sector contractor hired by the Town of Orangeville will begin the reconstruction of Victoria Street and Ontario Street on June 3. Reconstruction will include, but is not limited to the following: roadway, curbs, sidewalks, streetlighting, concrete curbs and gutters, and storm sewers. Both streets will be closed to traffic for approximately 5 months. Local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times. Road Closure: Victoria Street and Ontario Street will be closed as of June 3, for approximately 5 months. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times. Scope of work:
Pre-Construction Elements: There will be some project-related work that will occur ahead of the road work. This includes the installation of tree protection and environmental fencing, locates, surveying, and utility daylighting. A single lane closure will be required ahead of June 3 to complete this work. Other Projects in Orangeville

Avalon Care Centre - Started 2023 |
On August 28, 2023 the Ontario government announced a full redevelopment of the Avalon Care Centre, Orangeville's 40-year-old long term care facility. The project will bring more long-term care beds to Orangeville, addressing a critical shortage.
Mitigating traffic disturbances on Preston Drive In response to traffic concerns raised by residents on Preston Drive in 2023, the Town of Orangeville has been working with the project contractor to mitigate negative impacts, safety, or the quality of life for residents.
