Family Day 2017 offers fun at Alder Recreation Centre

The Town of Orangeville will host the popular Family Day event on Monday, February 20, 2017 from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alder Recreation Centre, 275 Alder Street. The event will feature free skating, swimming and activities for the whole family.

This year’s activities will include new family “try-it” fitness demonstrations beginning at 12 p.m. Residents are required to sign up to participate, either online or at a recreation centre. Demos include Kids Getting Fit (12-12:30 p.m.), Family Creative Dance (12:45-1:15 p.m.), Synchronized Swimming (1:20-1:45 p.m.), Lifesaving Sport (1:45-2:10 p.m.) and Family Yoga (1:30-2 p.m.).

The Orangeville Public Library invites families to meet Paw Patrol characters Chase and Marshall from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Other activities include arts and crafts, Canada 150 colouring pages, a photo booth and face painting.

Complimentary family skating is being offered at 9, 9:30, 10 and 10:30 a.m., and 3:30 p.m., sponsored by RBC, Drivewise, and Tony’s Garage.

Two free one-hour swims, sponsored by Hallmark Toyota, are offered at 12:15 and 2:15 p.m.
