Scott Wilson joined Orangeville Council in 2006.
Portfolio: Community Planning & Development (considers issues respecting activities of the Planning Department including housing and development issues relating to official plan and zoning matters)
Boards & Committees: Orangeville Seniors/Age Friendly Committee, Committee of Adjustment, Orangeville Public Library Board
Scott Wilson was raised in Orangeville and participated in all the minor sports – hockey, baseball, and lacrosse. He attended and graduated from Princess Elizabeth Public School and Orangeville District Secondary School. Councillor Wilson attended university in London and Kingston before beginning his 30-year municipal career with Peel Region. He currently works for the County of Wellington.
Councillor Wilson’s grown children – Alex and Rachel – attended high school in Orangeville, and also participated in all the sporting activities the community had to offer. Following graduation from post-secondary school, both reside in the Orangeville community.
Councillor Wilson is the Chair of the Orangeville Library Board, Chair of the Orangeville Seniors/Age Friendly Committee and Chair of Committee of Adjustment.
Prior to being elected to Council in 2006, Councillor Wilson was a founding member of the Orangeville Highlands Rotary Club, a member of the Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church Board of Managers, and coached minor Northmen lacrosse.
