Taxi & Limousine

The Town of Orangeville licenses taxicab and limousine owners, taxicab and limousine drivers, and taxicab brokers to service the needs of the travelling public in a conscientious and efficient manner.

In order to receive a licence, the applicant must comply with the standards set out in the Taxicab and Limousine Bylaw Number 119-2004, as amended.  These standards ensure that each passenger who enters a taxicab or limousine will be provided with a trip in a vehicle that is well maintained, covered by appropriate insurance, and operated by a driver that is knowledgeable of both safe driving practices and the geography of the Town.

The easiest way to ensure that a taxicab or limousine is licensed by the Town of Orangeville is to check for the Town of Orangeville plate that is located on the left rear portion of the vehicle.

Licensed Orangeville taxis will also have a tariff card on the sun visor of the vehicle and clearly visible to the passenger(s).
