Orangeville patios can open – Downtown will see patios expand

On Monday, June 8, the Province of Ontario announced that Orangeville, as part of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health Unit, can move to Stage 2 of the Province’s reopening plan. Orangeville plans to re-open some recreation amenities using phased approach

Premier Ford announced on June 8 that the area served by Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health Unit, which includes the Town of Orangeville, is included in the Stage 2 re-openings that will be permitted starting Friday, June 12. During the pandemic, from response to recovery, the Town of Orangeville has taken the direction of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. Community members are advised of an order issued today by Medical Officer of Health Dr. Nicola Mercer.

Wightman commits $56 million to bring high-speed Internet to Orangeville

Wightman Communications Ltd. announced today it will bring next-generation telecommunications to Orangeville that will enable high-speed Internet throughout the Town.

Construction for this $56 million fibre project will begin with the Orangeville Business Park in late 2020, with Wightman planning to bury more than 350,000 metres of fibre optic lines throughout the Town of Orangeville during the project.

Improvements planned for Broadway medians

The Broadway medians are due for some planting improvements. Orangeville Council received a report May 25 on plans to replace the large overgrown mature trees in an effort to improve sightlines across Broadway and the visibility of pedestrians and businesses.

Orangeville Farmers’ Market re-opens with online ordering, Saturday pick-up

The Orangeville Farmers’ Market re-opens with advance online orders for pick-up on Saturday, May 30. Customers will place their orders by noon on Thursdays for pick-up on Saturdays between 9 and 11 a.m. in the parking lot at 94 Broadway, across from Town Hall.
