Temporary off-leash dog park (new) |
|
Off-leash dog parks are an important part of recreational spaces across many communities, including Orangeville. Many dog owners use these parks to make sure their pets receive enough exercise. Off-leash parks also provide a safe space for animals to run, play and socialize with other dogs. In early 2024, the Town began the process of re-locating the current off-leash dog park located on north side of Hansen Road as it is being re-developed into new homes. Project backgroundThe owner of the land hosting the current temporary off-leash dog park provided notice in 2024 that we will need to move the park to another location when they move forward with development.

Stormwater management facility – Young Pond rehabilitation and liner replacement |
|
The Town of Orangeville is undertaking rehabilitation work and replacing the liner at one of our stormwater management facilities on Young Court. This project follows a 2025 report that identified the need for rehabilitation. A consultant was engaged in the fall of 2025, and a subsequent investigation revealed the facility was not operating as intended. We determined that replacing the liner is essential for the facility to effectively provide water quality treatment. Starting in the summer of 2026, the Town will hire a vendor to execute these tasks to restore and enhance the facility's design. Project background• sediment removal to restore facility capacity and improve water quality Current project progressThe project is currently in the final stages of design, with work expected to begin in the summer of 2026. Road Infrastructure Projects
Hansen Boulevard connection |
|
The western stretch of Hansen Boulevard, between Blind Line and Veteran’s Way, has been constructed in incremental segments over a 10-year period. Segments were completed as surrounding residential subdivision developments were constructed, by the project developers. Segments completed to date (February 2024) include:
The last remaining stretch of Hansen Boulevard falls within future subdivision lands owned by the developer. Why was the work not completed before?
September 2025 update: work began the week of September 10, 2025 on the next phase of the Hansen Boulevard subdivision by Great Gulf. Internal road construction will eventually include the Hansen Boulevard connection. December 2025 update: paving on a portion of Hansen Boulevard, allowing access to the new subdivision for construction vehicles began. This portion of the road is not the full connection, and is not useable by the public, but is the first step towards next phases of the project. More information will be updated here as available. |
Projects not run by the Town of Orangeville
The projects in this list are not Town of Orangeville projects but may have a direct impact on residents. Where necessary, the Town will work with the private sector contractors to minimize any negative impacts on its residents and increase safety.
The alignment of Hansen Boulevard was planned through a municipal class environmental assessment completed through 2006-2007.
