Town of Orangeville Provides Update on Chief Administrative Officer Role

It is with mixed emotions that the Town of Orangeville announces that Ed Brennan, the current Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has decided to step aside from the role to allow the Town to hire a permanent, full-time CAO.

Mr. Brennan was first hired in December 2008 as Manager, Facilities. He became Director, Parks and Recreation in 2013 before moving to the CAO position, first as acting and then interim CAO beginning in 2015 and permanently hired in the role in 2016.

The Town of Orangeville has remained committed to creating a brand-new aquatics experience for the community to enjoy and is continuing to work diligently to complete the reconstruction of the leisure and lap pools at Alder Recreation Centre.

Town offices, including Town Hall, will be closed on Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10. All Town offices are closed on weekends. Office hours will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11.

Fire Hydrant Flushing and Orangeville Drinking Water Maintenance Begins April 1

Beginning April 1, the Town of Orangeville will begin the process of flushing Town fire hydrants and removing built-up sediments in watermains.

Every year, the Town of Orangeville implements a six-month process to ensure these essential parts of our infrastructure remain in good working order.

Work will run throughout 2023 from April 1 until October 31, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Orangeville Water Works staff will be carrying out the maintenance.

Changes coming to Alder Street Intersections west of Riddell Road

Two intersections on Alder Street, west of Riddell Road, will see changes starting April 12, aimed at increasing pedestrian safety and enhancing existing crosswalks.

Portion of Broadway to be Closed Temporarily on March 17

Beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, March 17, Broadway will be closed to pedestrians on the north side and vehicles heading westbound from Mill Street to First Street.

The closure is to accommodate the replacement of a water curb stop at 199 Broadway (Rustik Bistro). Multiple sidewalk bays will be removed for repairs.

The closure could be up to eight hours; however operations teams are planning for a shorter duration.
